Event Details
Ski Stars
The Ski Stars program is for 6 to 12 year olds who have some
skiing experience and would like to become better skiers and have more fun on
the mountain. The goal of the program is to have a great time exploring Mission
Ridge, learn new skills, and help participants become good all mountain skiers.
Ski Stars coaches are the best around and student to coach ratios are low
ensuring quality instruction everyday.
Program Dates:
Ski Stars is an 8-week program with the option to ski Saturday, or Sunday. The
Saturday program starts January 2, 2010 and ends February 20, 2010. The Sunday
program starts January 3, 2010 and ends February 21, 2010.
Schedule: 9:00 AM
meet outside the Hampton Lodge ready to ski 11:30 AM break for Lunch 12:30 PM
meet outside Hampton Lodge ready to ski 2:30 PM finish for the day.
Coaches: Ski
stars coaches are energetic, excellent skiers, with great knowledge of modern
technique and of Mission Ridge. All coaches have a racing background and some
are recently retired ski racers. All Ski Stars coaches can carve, ski powder, hit jumps, and
tear up the mountain. They are great skiers and provide their students with
outstanding visual aids along with top-notch instruction.
Minimum Requirements
for Ski Stars Participants: Ski Stars Participants must be able to ski groomed intermediate (Blue Square) runs with
ski poles, be able to ski at Ski School Level 5 or above (ski with a wedge
christy to parallel turns, with greater speed and staying balanced). Example:
You can ski with comfort and in control down Skookum.
Introduction to
Racing: Ski Star provides race coaching for participants that are interested in
racing at the Apple Invite held at Mission Ridge January, 9-10, 2010, and the
Wolf Chase Race held at Loup Loup February 13-14, 2010.

The Mission Ridge Ski Team, established in 1967, has a long lustrous history. The club is recognized throughout the United States and Canada for developing athletes from the beginning level racer to the U.S. Ski Team . The program has prided itself in helping develop not only talented racers, but also quality citizens who continue to contribute to their local communities.
In 2006, we incorporated as the Mission Ridge Ski Education Foundation (MRSEF). As a non-profit (501.c.3), all donations are tax deductble.
The Mission Ridge Ski Education Foundation is dedicated to quality training and competitive experience for all levels of skiers. Our coaching promotes athletic development from beginner to elite levels. We strive to create a healthy competitive environment that includes character development and sportsmanship. Currently MRSEF trains 55 athletes ranging from age 7-19 with commitment levels that range from one-day per week training to 5-days per week.
